There are so many worthy causes to give toward this Giving Tuesday. It is undeniable that the needs that surround us, whether it’s in the US or another country, are endless.

Haiti continues to remain in a state of chaos. There continues to be no sign of an election for a new president, and several countries have considered entering in to bring aid but we have yet to see that come to fruition.

So where does that leave the people of Haiti? I don’t feel that I can describe how they are feeling as I sit here in the US, but I don’t think it is hard for one to imagine. We can say that the need is great, and here are a couple ways that you can help…

1. The Loaves & Fishes Program – This time of year we would normally be having our Christmas feeding program, but due to conditions in Haiti and the level of starvation happening we instead are continuing to promote the Loaves & Fishes feeding program we began over the summer. We were able to feed over 500 people a week (sometimes over 800!!) for 4 months this summer to fall and would love to keep this going! This program has been on hold for the last couple of weeks due to lack of funds, but we will continue as donations come in!

2. The School Sponsorship Program – There are very few free education programs in Haiti and there are many children who cannot afford to attend school. Our program is currently helping to send 73 children to school. We have 5 children in our sponsorship program who do not have sponsors. Would you consider being a school sponsor? For $380 a year you can pay a student’s tuition and help to pay for their uniform costs. Each year you will receive a letter & picture from your student.

3.The Children’s Home– We were so blessed by our generous supporters who participated in the Hoedown this year! Any amount raised is an incredible blessing, however we did not meet our fundraising goal for this year. If you feel led we would greatly appreciate donations for the Children’s Home that would go towards the needs of our 4 kiddos and full time staff living in the home.
